There is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic team at Reform Radio as our new Operations Manager. Working with colleagues across departments, this role is central to ensuring the organisation runs smoothly.
As our Operations Manager, you will look after our multi-functional office, event, and studio spaces within the Bonded Warehouse, in Manchester.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in operational management in similar spaces and a commitment to the work of Reform Radio. However, we are open to considering applications from people with relevant experiences.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
Line management of a team of 1-2 people – these are often trainee/apprenticeship roles.
Overseeing operational and facilities management: This includes coordinating both external and internal bookings of our studio and event spaces.
Working to ensure that Reform Radio’s spaces are as accessible as possible and supporting any access needs of staff and visitors.
Managing administration and maintenance of the Reform Radio spaces, IT, studio and office equipment. Including liaising with office suppliers, managing related subscriptions and purchases.
Helping develop internal systems to maximize productivity and optimize staff potential.
Liaising with key operational partners, including the Bonded Warehouse building management.
Being Reform Radio’s appointed Health & Safety Officer. Coordinating RIDDOR, First Aid and Fire Safety compliance.
Ensuring that the organisation complies with data and information governance regulations, such as GDPR.
Working with an external HR service to write and distribute contracts for staff, freelancers and partners.
Coordinating and chairing our weekly all-staff meeting and staff comms.
Leading all staff and volunteer inductions for the Reform Radio spaces.
Working with team managers to coordinate staff training.
Helping to organise Reform Radio staff and community socials.
Working with Reform Radio’s Higher Education partners to support the delivery of student placements.
Supporting the team with other tasks during busy periods and where relevant.
DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALITIES:
Commitment to the work of Reform Radio and to supporting underserved and underrepresented young people to access high-quality cultural experiences and career pathways in the creative industries
Experience in operational management, ideally in a similar multi-functional space
Experience in managing tech equipment and being a confident user of software such as Microsoft Office, Google suite, CRM databases, and broadcasting software.
A good understanding of health and safety requirements and how to develop and implement risk assessments.
A good understanding of GDPR and data compliance requirements.
Ability to support young people in trainee/apprenticeship roles through delivering training, mentoring and support as a line manager.
A self-motivated and supportive team player, with the ability to initiate new systems and to address problems and opportunities for the organisation.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and multiple deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Personal interest in the arts, especially radio and music.
This role is generally Monday to Friday, from 9AM – 5PM (40hrs/week), but some weekend and evening work is required. You will be entitled to 28 days of annual leave plus your birthday. This role offers a salary of £28,000/annum and a Nest Pensions scheme. You can find the full job description here.
